365 Days of Tommy P: Day 272

Tuesday, September 29, 2009 (272)

This evening we had a photo shoot of Oscar for the Violet Winter press release at Third Coast Recording Company with Jeremy Bircher shooting. Then as usual when we ended up taking group photos.

I framed this shot above and set the timer as Jeremy, Oscar, and I reviewed a few shots of Oscar for the release. The photo below was taken by Jeremy and directed by Oscar.

Oscar: "Tommy P, I want you in the back, looking off that way not paying attention, and looking vain as fuck."

Monday, September 28, 2009 (271)

This is how a Monday night works: Drink --> Go to the open bar --> Drink --> Go to the mini mart and buy more booze --> Drink in the alley --> Go back to the bar to drink and dance until 2 --> Wildcard

Sunday, September 27, 2009 (270)

Today we had another meeting for Violet Winter’s “Abuse Me” music video with the video producer, director, and art director. They and Oscar all met at Third Coast Recording Company and I joined via video link-up. I was “in L.A.”

Tonight Third Coast Recording Company switched its music studio hat to its film studio hat as Oxygen8 Productions.

We shoot music videos, documentaries, commercials, events, parties, etc.

Jeremy, Oscar, and I shot a Sweet 16 party at Excalibur.

Tommy P: “For a blonde white girl, Shristi was not the name I would I have guess for her.”
Jeremy: “Damn it Tom! Who were you filming?!”
Got him good.

Afterward we filmed a band performing at the Abbey Pub.

I ran into this young lady on my way to the DJ booth. She stepped in front of me and looked into my eyes, took my glasses and struck a pose. A took this photo and she promptly returned my shades to their hanging position off of my necklaces. Before we parted she made a lasting impression by twisting my nipples, smiling, and turning away. No words were spoken between either of us. That’s a woman.

365 Days of Tommy P: Day 265

Tuesday, September 22, 2009 (265)

Long night at The Smerch Palace.

“Doesn’t stop once it’s snowing. Please don’t stop. Keep it going.”

I don't like having photos of myself eating. Someone once asked me why, and I responded, "If people know that I eat, they will likely assume that 'I am human and I need to be loved, just like everybody else does.'"

Lazer Dan: "What are you doing?"
Tommy P: "I haven't been out in a week. I gotta dance it out."

365 Days of Tommy P: Day 264

Monday, September 21, 2009 (264)

“I would walk 500 miles / And I would walk 500 more / Just to be the man who walked 1,000 miles to fall down at your door”

That’s a nice sentiment from The Proclaimers, but that was 1988. It’s 2009, I’ve got a webcam to hold me over for the time being.

365 Days of Tommy P: Day 262

Saturday, September 19, 2009 (262)

An old friend got married today. Another old friend drove in from California for it (he’s on leave from the Marines. Guess which one).

Keepin it classy. Perfect 10.

Always put the troublemakers off in the corner. That way they’ll be less likely to cause a scene and ruin the bride’s perfect day.

Less than a year until I have to give this guy a speech at his wedding.

Today my nephew / godson turned one year old.

365 Days of Tommy P: Day 261

Friday, September 18, 2009 (261)

Amanda came to Chicago for the weekend. We were invited down to a friend’s apartment. She kept calling us to see how long it was going to be until we got there. Once we arrived, she got immediately got blackout drunk. Truly the “Hostess With The Mostest.” (Or is it supposed to be “mostess”)?

365 Days of Tommy P: Day 260

Thursday, September 17, 2009 (260)

I turned 9,000 days old today.

My first wake up call came at 8 AM from Oscar. I was asleep on the floor of the VIP lounge at Third Coast (because someone else was on the couch) and he was in the other lounge. My phone was supposed to wake me up at 6:30. We ran out to my car, which was parked at a spot that says “No Parking 7AM-6PM.” No ticket. I finally catch a break.

My second wake up call came from Amanda. “Hey Tom! Guess What! I’m probably coming in town this weekend. Think you can pencil me in? . . . were you sleeping? News flash: It’s 12:30 and gorgeous out.” “News flash: I’m a rock star, and I do what I want.”

This is Colin. He was No Fate’s drummer for a few years. I tackled him outside of AK47 when I saw him because I hadn’t seen him in years. When I entered the doorman called me a “jackass” for making a scene in front of the door. It’s not like I interrupted a speech. Additionally, I wasn’t the one who let a 20 year old into a 21-and-over only establishment.

When I got back to car I found this plant on my windshield. The apartment building under which I parked has balconies overlooking the street. The must’ve had a drunken party. I felt bad that the owner lost his/her plant. I picked it up and hurled it back up to the balcony, exploding it against the sliding glass door. Enjoy.

365 Days of Tommy P: Day 259

Wednesday, September 16, 2009 (259)

Here I am doing research for the Violet Winter release.

Jeremy: “Hey man! You’re 8,999 days old today!”

This is Ali. He was No Fate’s lead guitarist for a few years.

A friend and I were leaving the club and a cab stopped in front of us a block later. A young lady in her early to mid 20s leaned out of the back window and asked, “What are you boys doin?” To which we replied, “Going back to our place. What are you doin?” “Fuckin!”

365 Days of Tommy P: Day 257

Monday, September 14, 2009 (257)

I was eating pain killers like candy and I got myself down to the studio.

With my new found pill habit I decided it was only appropriate to go to Rehab.

365 Days of Tommy P: Day 256

Sunday, September 13, 2009 (256)

I woke up today in some of the worst pain ever. My back was in severe pain. I had the biggest and most painful knot in it. While I was driving to my meeting (with the artist who is doing the album artwork for the Violet Winter debut album) I was in excruciating pain because every time I turned the wheel because of my back. I had my cousin walk on my back and dig her heals in deep to try to help. It didn’t work.

Eventually heartburn, and acid-reflux set in from something I ate and added to my discomfort. I couldn’t turn my head more than 45° up, down, or right. The heating pad did little to help.

365 Days of Tommy P: Day 253

Thursday, September 10, 2009 (253)

Heading to one of my spots.

Sometimes I’ll just go up to the roof of Third Coast and look at the city, wishing I could see the stars like I can in Michigan, and clear my mind.

To quote my friend Cab, “Milk is good.”
